Our standard insurance policy covers all items damaged or lost and is valued at .60 cents per pound per article. For this coverage there is no additional charge.
We also offer a replacement cost policy for loss or damage, is available for ten dollars ($10.00) per one thousand dollars ($1000.00) with a minimum of three thousand dollars ($3000.00). This insurance policy has a deductible of five hundred dollars ($500.00). This option does not cover items which were poorly packaged by the customer, it covers items packed and wrapped by NYcityVAN only.
Many Buildings require general liability insurance from moving companies working in their buildings. For each building, a unique certificate must be requested from our insurance agent specifying the building, management company, tenant, and other parties. This process normally takes about 1-2 business days to complete.
One certificate for each location is included free with a move if booked at least 2 business days in advance and YOU complete the request form. If for some reason you cannot complete the form, and need us to talk with your management company there is a $20 documentation and processing fee.
If we are given the wrong information (on the form), there is a $20 re-processing fee. If you need a certificate re-processed within 24hrs of the move there is a $40 fee.
